On November 8, radiologists, radiographers, radiological technologists and professionals from related fields will celebrate the tenth International Day of Radiology (IDoR 2021) all over the world. Let’s celebrate together!
The International Day of Radiology is an annual event held with the aim of building greater awareness of the value that radiology contributes to safe patient care, and improving understanding of the vital role radiologists and radiological technologists play in the healthcare continuum.
Why do we celebrate IDoR on Nov 8 each year?
Because Wilhelm Röntgen produced electromagnetic radiation in a wavelength range known as #xrays on this day 126 years ago! Thanks to him #radiology was born. The world has benefited from this amazing discovery ever since!
IDoR 2021 in Kenya
In Kenya we celebrate by reflecting on the tremendous growth in radiography we have seen over the last decade. Ranging from X-RAY machines in every hospital, a CT scan in every county hospital, PACS & Cloud Imaging in the country to the newly launched Integrated Molecular Imaging Center (IMC) in the country. We cannot fail to recognize the role the government, private sectors, our able radiologists, radiographers and other related professions have played to reach this milestone.
